An Open MRI is configured differently from a conventional MRI to provide more comfort and ease to patients. As the name suggests, the modality is open on all four sides and is not enclosed like a conventional MRI. This feature is beneficial for claustrophobic and obese patients. It is also ideal for children who need parental support during the scan. An Open MRI provides greater ease in positioning the body, which results in patient comfort and ultimately fewer retakes and accurate results.

Test Preparation for Males:
- No specific preparation is necessary.
- Informed consent is required for the test.

Test Preparation for Females:
- If female patients are in the reproductive age group, the date of their last menstrual period (LMP) is required.
- If not in the reproductive age group or if LMP information is unavailable, a urine pregnancy test is necessary.
