• Fasting Requirements: You must fast (no solid food or colored beverages) for at least 4 to 6 hours before your appointment. This is a safety measure for the intravenous contrast. Plain water is allowed and encouraged.
• Kidney Function Test (Serum Creatinine): A recent Serum Creatinine blood test report (usually within the last 15 to 30 days) is mandatory. Since the kidneys process the contrast dye, we must confirm that your renal function is healthy enough to clear it.
• Bladder Preparation: You may be asked to drink water and avoid urinating just before the scan. A full bladder helps stretch the bladder walls, making it easier to see small growths or stones.
• Allergy Disclosure: Inform the Scan4Health team if you have a known allergy to iodine or have reacted to contrast media in the past.
• Remove Metal Objects: You will be asked to remove jewelry, belts, and clothing with metal zippers or buttons from your abdomen.
• Medication Review: Please let our staff know if you take Metformin for diabetes. You may need to pause this medication for 48 hours after the scan.
• Post-Scan Hydration: Drink 8–10 glasses of water for 24 hours after the test to help your kidneys flush out the contrast dye.
