The Bleeding Time test measures the time taken for bleeding to stop after a small, standardized incision is made on the skin, usually on the forearm or earlobe. This test evaluates how well platelets adhere to the injured blood vessel and form an initial clot.

During the procedure, the skin is cleaned, and a controlled, shallow cut is made. A stopwatch is used to record the time until bleeding stops completely. The test is performed under sterile conditions and is generally safe, causing only minimal discomfort.

The Bleeding Time test is commonly used to:
